ᴺQ. !xíta- v. “to pass, spend (time, transitive)” (Category: Time (other))
A neologism for “to pass, spend (time, transitive)” coined by Tamas Ferencz and inspired by xiétë “passing, impermanent”. It is followed by the time spent, as in xítanen loa Ondóresse “I spent a year in Gondor”. It is similar in meaning to attested [ᴹQ.] oia- “live, pass one’s days”, but that verb can only be used for living or habitation whereas xíta- can be used for spending time on any activity: xítanes nóloa teciesse parmo “he/she spent last year writing a book (in [the] writing of a book)”.
