ᴺS. !alnad pron. “nothing” (Category: Negation)

ᴺS. !alnad, pron. “nothing” [created by Fiona Jallings, FJNS] (Category: Negation)

A neologism for “nothing” coined by Fiona Jallings as a combination al- “no” and [N.] nad “thing”. Elaran instead proposed ᴺS. allad based on the sound change whereby ancient ln became ll. I prefer Fiona’s neologism, since I think the sound change of ln to ll is ancient enough that it is no longer active in modern Sindarin and thus ln is possible as a combination in later compounds. However, there are no attested examples of ln in Sindarin or Noldorin of the 1950s and 60s, so allad is probably more popularly among Neo-Sindarin writers.
