ᴱQ. vaile n. “covering, *sheath” (Category: to Cover)
A word in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s glossed “covering” under the early root ᴱ√VAẎA “enfold, wind about” (QL/100). In an untranslated sentence from the 1920s it seems to be used for the sheath of a sword: ᴱQ. unlunke naiqe yu vaile·na ar elle ha men ambostuva, probably meaning something like “*he pulled his sword from the sheath and drove it into the breast” as suggested by the editors (PE16/146).
