Dan. [h]
This sound developed initially in both dialects of Danian from the aspirate [kʰ] (PE19/18), which probably first became the spirant [x] (“ch”) and then [h] as it did in Noldorin and Ilkorin. It also appeared in the orthographic representation of voiceless initial consonants [l̥] (“hl”), [r̥] (“hr”) and [w̥] (“hw”). It is possible that these presented a combination of consonants with [h], but more likely they were simple voiceless consonants.
