G. gwidhin n. “woof” (Category: to Weave)

The Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s had G. {gwind >>} gwidhin “woof” and G. gwist “weft” based on the early root ᴱ√gu̯iđ (GL/46).

Neo-Sindarin: This early root fell out of use in Tolkien’s later writings. The Etymologies of the 1930s had ᴹQ. lanat “weft” under the root ᴹ√LAN “weave” (Ety/LAN), so I’d coin a word ᴺS. lanad “weft, woof” to replace the probably-abandoned Gnomish words.
