G. idhr(a) adv. “long, a long time” (Category: Slow)

⚠️G. idhr(a), adv. “long, a long time” (Category: Slow)
S. and “long”

An adverb in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s given as {indr >>} idhr “long, a long time” with (probably primitive) forms indr, inr in parenthesis nearby (GL/51). As such, it is probably based on the early root ᴱ√ṆÐṆ “stretch” which was the basis of Early Qenya words meaning “long” (QL/31). Tolkien also compared idhra to the word G. annai “far away” < ᴱ✶ṇ̄dai (GL/19).
