Q. #tav- v. (basic-verb) “*to endure” (Category: Patience, Endurance)
A word appearing in the untranslated phrase lan arkanwar Valaron tauvar from Late Notes on Verb Structure (LVS) from 1969 (PE22/147). Christopher Gilson suggested this phrase probably means “*while the thrones of the Valar endure”. Thus tauva could be the future form of an otherwise unattested verb *tav- “endure”; compare tyauva future of tyav- “taste” in the same set of documents (PE22/152).
