Q. lumincë adv. “a little while” (Category: Minute, Second)
A word for “a little while” appearing in the phrase yallume Eldalie enwa marnie endoresse luminke “in times when the Eldalie dwelt yet a little while in Middle-earth” from the first draft of the Löa Yucainen poem (CPT/1296). It is a diminutive of lúmë “(period of) time; hour”.
Neo-Quenya: Prior to the publication of Löa Yucainen, Elaran suggested using ᴺQ. lúmincë (with long ú) to mean “minute” for purposes of Neo-Quenya. I would transfer this sense to lumincë, which I would use to mean “a little while, *minute, moment” depending on context. I would assume that, like lúmë “hour”, lumincë is a loosely defined (small) period of time, not necessarily exactly 60 seconds. However, I would assume it specifically means “minute” when quantified: luminci nelde = “3 minutes”.
