ᴱQ. Sirnúmen loc. “Western Stream”
Dwelling place of the Noldoli in Valinor after their banishment from Valimar in the earliest Lost Tales (LT1/144), translated as “Western Stream” by Christopher Tolkien (LT1/157) and interpreted as a combination of the root ᴱ√SIŘI with núme “west” (LT1A/Sirnúmen). It was first given as (rejected) Numessir with the elements reversed (LT1/155).
