Q. orya-² v. (ya-causative) “*to raise” (Category: to Lift, Raise)
An untranslated verb appearing in Late Notes on Verb Structure (LVS) from 1969 as an example of a ya-causative verb (PE22/164). It appears to be derived from the root √OR “rise” + the causative suffix ✶-yā. In theory it would have the same meaning as ta-causative orta- “raise = cause to rise”. However, Tolkien probably intended this verb to be purely theoretically, to illustrate the conjugation of its verb class, and not an actual verb within the Quenya language.
