ᴺQ. !aranisquë n. “frankincense” (Category: Smoke)
A neologism coined by Paul Strack in 2022 specifically for Eldamo, a combination of ar(a)- “noble, high” and nisquë “incense”, mirroring the etymology of frankincense itself (“frank” is Old French for “noble, true”). Helge Fauskanger instead used ᴺQ. ninquima in his Neo-Quenya New Testament (NQNT), but that seems to be ninquë “white” + ma¹ (unprocessed frankincense is white), which I find unsatisfying etymologically.
