ᴹQ. ortare n. “lifting up” (Category: to Lift, Raise)

⚠️ᴹQ. ortarë, n. “lifting up” (Category: to Lift, Raise)
ᴺQ. ^ortië “lifting up, raising”

A noun appearing as [ᴹQ.] ortare “lifting up” in the Quenya Verbal System (QVS) from 1948, the gerund of the verb orta- “raise” (PE22/110). In that document, -(á)re was used to form gerunds of causatives and a-verbs.

Neo-Quenya: Tolkien seems to have abandoned the notion of -re as a gerund suffix, though it is had to say for sure since -rë remained a popular suffix for abstract nouns. Nevertheless, for purposes of Neo-Quenya I would use the noun ᴺQ. ortië “lifting up, raising” as the gerund of orta- “raise”.
