Q. sin¹ adv. “*this much” (Category: This)
A correlative ᴹQ. sin or sinde “so, so much” appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/111), a combination of ᴹQ. si “this” and ᴹQ. -n(de) “degree”, so more literally “*of this degree”. It might reappear in the untranslated phrase sin quentë Quendingoldo Elendilenna which is probably from the early 1950s (PM/401) and might mean “*this much Pengoloð said to Elendil”; hat-tip to Raccoon and Vyacheslav Stepanov for this suggestion.
