A Gondorian prince in early drafts of Book V of The Lord of the Rings (WR/252), from a region whose name not legible but might be N. Anárion (WR/266, note #22), precursor to S. Anórien. This character disappeared from later drafts. The meaning of the name is unclear, but Roman Rausch suggested its second element might be *rodir “nobleman” = raud¹ + dîr (EE/3.27)
