ᴱQ. Silmarinko (Silmarinku-) pn. “the Orbéd Moon”
A Qenya name for Moon in the Qenya Lexicon and Poetic and Mythological Words of Eldarissa from the 1910s (QL/83; PME/83), a combination of silma “ray of moonlight” an rinko “orb”. It also appeared in the reduced form Silmarint, where after the loss of the final vowel the final [k] became [t]. Another variant Silmarindo also appeared, of less clear origin.
