Ilk. adhum n. “bridge” (Category: Bridge)
A Doriathrin word for “bridge” appearing in the Addenda and Corrigenda to The Etymologies (EtyAC/YAT), likely a derivative of the same primitive form ᴹ✶yatmā as its cognates in other languages. An earlier deleted form iaðum may indicate Tolkien’s uncertainty over the development of initial [j] (= “y”) in Ilkorin; elsewhere the rule is that initial [j] vanished.
