ᴺQ. !cantil (cantild-) n. “quadrangle, *quadrilateral, rectangle, square” (Category: Square)
A neologism for “quadrangle” coined by Petri Tikka, a combination of can(ta) “four” and tildë “point” and analogous to [ᴹQ.] neltil “triangle”. I would use this word for any four-cornered figure: quadrangle, quadrilateral, rectangle, or square. I would further assume that in casual (non-mathematical) conversation, “square” is normally assumed.
