Ilk. [g]
The voiced velar stop survived initially from Primitive Elvish into Ilkorin (PE19/18), and it also developed from primitive initial [ɣ] and [ŋ] as well as before primitive initial [w] (PE19/19). Medially after vowels it became [ɣ] and then vanished (PE19/23). Later, however, a [g] developed from primitive [k] after a vowel (PE19/23) and it was also preserved in medial clusters after a consonant, and so [g] could appear anywhere in an Ilkorin word.
