ᴹQ. Solonyeldi coll. “*Surf Singers”
Proper Quenya form of the name of the Sea Elves in Silmarillion drafts from the 1930s: ᴹT. Soloneldi, though only the Telerin form appeared in the tales (LR/214). The Quenya form appeared only in The Etymologies, where it was given as compound of solor “surf” and nyello “singer” (Ety/NYEL, SOL).

Name for the third tribe of Elves (later called the Teleri) in the earliest Lost Tales (LT1/16). In the Qenya Lexicon from the 1910s it is glossed “Shore Piper” and given as a combination of solor “surf, surge” and some derivative of the root ᴱ√SIPI “whistle, pipe” (QL/35, 85).
